It happens every time: When Apple drops hints it has a new product about to hit the market -- in this case the iPhone 5 -- the blogosphere lights up.
The new phone, if you believe what they're saying...will be out Sept. 5...will have a rounded back...a larger screen...won't disconnect calls if you touch the edges...will fly -- well, it won't fly, but the rumors do.
Seth Weintraub, who writes for http://appleiphone5site.blogspot.com/ says, "a tipster sent us some pictures of what he now thinks is the iPhone 5. He caught what he said was likely an Apple employee hunched over the device on the way home from work in San Francisco earlier this week. He told us he was able to get a very good look at the device but the pictures he snapped 'didn’t do it justice.'"
The new phone, if you believe what they're saying...will be out Sept. 5...will have a rounded back...a larger screen...won't disconnect calls if you touch the edges...will fly -- well, it won't fly, but the rumors do.

"We aren’t certain if this is legitimate or not but it is too thin and flat to be an iPhone 3GS and too rounded to be an iPhone 4," writes Weintraub. "The black back with Apple logo would seem to rule out an iPod touch. Our tipster is all but certain it was a new Apple product and the iPhone 5 would be the most likely scenario."
Weintraub said we were welcome to share the image with you. "We've heard that the iPhone 5 will be a half inch longer and wider while becoming thinner as well," he said in an email.
A British blog, Mobile Fun, says it's been leaked "a design document for an iPhone 5 case, sourced to Mobile Fun from a Chinese case manufacturer. Luckily for us, the image shows the iPhone 5 and reveals some of the massive changes that have been made with the latest edition of Apples iPhone." It says the phone's touch screen has been lengthened to 4 inches from 3.5, though the phone itself is no larger. The screen, instead, will stretch from edge to edge of the phone, and the rear panel "curves gently back around its edges, much like the iPhone 3G."
These things happen whenever Apple goes through one of its carefully-organized product rollouts. You may recall the one famous slip last year when an early iPhone 4 was found in a bar in Redwood City, Calif., and quickly bought up and described in detail by Gizmodo.com. Depending on where you look online, the leaked image above is either a similar accident, a decoy, or a picture that actually shows an old iPhone sold several years ago.
What does Apple say? They just called back -- very friendly -- to say, "We don't comment on rumor or speculation."
Greg Kumparak of TechCrunch had tongue planted deeply in cheek: "iPhone fans, start drooling. Skeptics, have your grains of salt at the ready.

Apple Iphone 5 Release Review
Apple Iphone 5 is set to become the world's largest smartphone vendor by volume, according to new data from research firm Strategy Analytics.
"We had previously reported on Apple becoming the largest smartphone vendor in terms of revenue and profits," Alex Spektor, an analyst with Strategy Analytics, wrote in a July 29 research note. "Now, just four years after the release of the original iPhone, Apple has become the world's largest smartphone vendor by volume with 18 percent market share."
The firm places Samsung in second place with 17.5 percent, then Nokia with 15.2 percent and undefined "others" with 48.9 percent.
Apple is currently pursuing a lawsuit that accuses Samsung of copying its products, an intellectual-property battle made more complicated by the symbiotic relationship between the two companies: Even as the Apple iPhone 5 and iPad compete fiercely with Samsung's Galaxy S smartphone and Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet, Apple remains a major purchaser of electronic components from its rival. Samsung has responded to Apple Iphone 5 's legal maneuvering with patent-infringement lawsuits of its own.
For its part, Nokia hopes that wholesale adoption of Windows Phone as its new software platform will reverse its market-share declines. Its first devices running Microsoft's smartphone platform are expected to make their debut by the end of the year.
All three companies have new smartphones in the pipeline for later in 2011. Samsung's Galaxy S II is reportedly prepping for an August release in the United States, following a solid sales run in international markets such as South Korea and Japan. And Apple Iphone 5 will likely debut its next iPhone sometime in the fall timeframe.
According to Experian's PriceGrabber shopping Website, some 35 percent of 3,000 U.S. consumers said they would buy the Apple iPhone 5 upon its release. Around 48 percent of those polled said they prefer Apple's iOS platform to alternatives such as Google Android or BlackBerry.
The iPhone 5—or whatever Apple finally decides to name its next smartphone—will run iOS 5, a major update to the company's mobile operating system. If you believe the rumors floating around, the device will feature some high-end hardware, such as an 8-megapixel camera and Apple's proprietary A5 processor.
That updated OS and hardware could give Apple the tools it needs to compete more heartily against Google Android, which is appearing on ever-more devices by rival manufacturers. The bigger question, though, is whether a new iPhone—particularly one launched on multiple carriers and supplemented by older versions sold at lower price points—will radically change the game for Apple, as it seeks to solidify its market position.
Apple iPhone 5 : iPhone 5 Release Date
Apple’s iPhone 5 release date is close and AT&T employees have been warned not take their time because the big event is expected soon. Rumors are that the Apple iPhone 5 release date is set for September and the smart phone will hit the ground running after most people are back from their summer vacations.

Apple’s Peter Oppenheimer mysteriously commented earlier this month that a “future product transition” is expected in September, without elaborating. However, media recently released a story that the Apple iPhone 5 release date is nearing after a man had been reportedly seen using the device in a train in the United States.
Rumors are the company plans to introduce two versions of the device at once, with a cheaper model and a flagship version of the smart phone. Industry sources hinted that a less expensive version of the iPhone4 will also be available. Actually, most of the hype might be intentionally fueled by Apple’s marketing specialist who fuel rumors that keep the buzz live and going while booting sales of existing iPhone models. Anyway, those who expect an inexpensive version of any product by Apple would be disappointed because the company first has to replace expensive suppliers with cheaper yet quality ones prior to start shipping cheaper iPhone and iPads.
Apple Iphone 5 Review
New reports show Apple's iPhone 5 series of smartphones to be one of the fastest-growing devices on the market, even with its latest model more than a year old.
According to IDC's latest Worldwide Mobile Phone Tracker results, Apple managed to ship 20.3 million Apple iPhone 5 handsets for the quarter. This compares to the 8.4 million iPhones the company shifted in the same period last year. The growth marks a 143 percent jump in iPhone sales.
The same report alleged that the increase in sales means that Apple now accounts for 5.6 percent of the global mobile phone market, marking a three percent growth from 2010.
The growth means that Apple is now the fourth biggest mobile phone distributor in the world.
The report went on to highlight that in order to continue its growth the company would need to release more handsets.
To date the latest iPhone, the iPhone 4, is already a year old and -- despite the numerous rumours suggesting the arrival of the new Apple iPhone 5 in September -- Apple is yet to confirm when its latest Apple iPhone 5 model will hit the market.
Despite certain reports to the contrary, according to the IDC Nokia managed to retain its crown as the world's top mobile phone manufacturer for another quarter. Despite retaining the top-spot the Finnish phone maker did see a severe downsizing in its market share, dropping from a 33.8 percent share to 24.2 percent.
Below it Samsung remained stationary only seeing significant sales rises in its Galaxy range of smartphones. The sales increase was led by its premier Galaxy S2 smartphone which reportedly sold in excess of five million units just three months after launch.
The news follows an earlier report from Nomura which speculated that by the end of the next quarterSamsung's growing smartphone sales will allow it to overtake Nokia as the world's leading phone maker.
IDC senior research analyst Ramon Llamas commented on the report's findings: "For the overall market to grow by double digits year over year, despite the decline in feature phones, is testament to the strength of the global smartphone market.
"While this is not a new trend -- smartphones have been the primary engine of growth for the last several quarters -- it does mark something of a transition point, as demonstrated by the growing number and variety of smartphones featured in the vendors' portfolios."
Apple Iphone 5 Release
You’ve heard the iPhone 5 rumors before, and they’re not stopping.
The China Times says the iPhone 5 will be releasing in the second week of September with an initial order of 4 million. Suppliers are reportedly preparing 400,000 trial run units.
Mac Rumors reports that Apple is expected to include the iPhone launch at the iPod media event it will be holding in September, along with the release of iOS 5.
CNET UK predicts the iPhone 5 release date to be September 7. They mention that Steve Jobs has said iOS 5 will arrive in the fall, and they believe the iPhone 5 will be a more popular place to run it than the iPod. And Apple has been releasing iPods in September on the first Wednesday after Labor Day since 2005.
According to iphonestuffs, the iPhone 5’s lowest model will be coming with 32G of space and 64G of memory, and they claim to be offering the strongest signal strength of any iPhone model yet.
The new iPhone 5 will have face recognition, and will have Up to 14 hours of talk time On The 3G version and 7 Hours on the 4G.
